Michael Bicksel

Research Assistant

Intro and Welcome

May 18, 2025

Welcome to my blog! I’m a student at the University of Chicago studying economics and philosophy intending to go to law school. I formerly served as a U.S. Senate Republican Page and am currently a Heritage Lloyd and Bea Smith Fellow. I have worked as a research assistant for Professor Linda Jellum of the University of Idaho College of Law and Professor Lawrence Cunningham, the Director of the Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance at the University of Delaware. I also authored a couple independent papers. All of that can be found on my academic profile page and on my SSRN author page.

This blog is mainly an outlet for me to write about topics of personal interest. I’m not entirely sure what you’ll find on it; it could be anything from tough macroeconomic or legal questions to video game design and good books. But I expect it to generally focus on broader political and cultural trends, as that is what I am often immersed in day-to-day. As always, my views are not reflective of my institution/employer. If you’re interested in reaching out, my personal email is mbicksel@gmail.com and my college email is bickselm@uchicago.edu.
